Glass product control system for the pharmaceutical sector

LINE

Automatic detection of cracks and breaks on glass containers

The glass product control system for the sector pharmaceutical It was designed to acquire images of glass bottles of variable diameter, which slide on a prism-type or similar conveyor belt, in order to detect cracks and breaks on the surface of the object under examination, without the need to rotate the bottle.

  • Continuous cycle operation
  • Surveying of containers with variable diameter (from 10 to 45 mm) and length (from 20 to 70 mm)
  • Single or double tape pitch
  • Automatic loading of the work recipe
  • Response and display of results on video
  • No contact with the bottle
  • Integrable on existing lines
  • Ambient light shielding
  • Recipes that can be replicated on similar systems
  • Automatic loading of the work recipe
  • Ability to create new recipes, or modify existing ones, while the system is running
  • Audit Trail function (on request)
  • Log into the system through various access levels
  • Prepared for Industry 4.0 plan

Quality control of glass products for the pharmaceutical industry

Our company, over the years, has developed an excellent experience in the quality control on glass products for the pharmaceutical industry. They have been designed vision systems custom To meet customer needs and ensure maximum control reliability. On many occasions, it was necessary to use systems capable of inspecting the entire surface of the product at 360°, without the possibility of coming into contact with it. In this case, our technicians designed a prototype illuminator that, thanks also to the combination of special industrial chambers, allowed the inspection of glass products for the pharmaceutical industry. non-rotation phaseThe non-rotation of glass products ensures maximum attention to preventing breakages, crashes, and unexpected material on the surface, thus reducing waste costs and increasing productivity.

In other cases, this system was not necessary and the inspection was limited to verifying the final part of the glass product and that it was cut correctly without any manufacturing defects.

Using special illuminators, any imperfections or dirt on the glass can be detected and a rejection can be notified to the management system. Specifically, the vision software for the quality control of glass products for the pharmaceutical industry is able to communicate with the PLC which manages the line and the trigger of the cameras, so that you can pass any information you want to it, thus releasing a quality control reportAll this allows us to propose systems designed for theIndustry 4.0.

Info

Acquisition speed and countersllo

The system includes integrated and specially designed lighting, which allows you to have exposure times of about 1ms if high sensitivity is required, lower otherwise. From the arrival of the trigger to the result less than 200ms.

The vision software for the quality control on glass products for the pharmaceutical industry it is capable of ensuring multiple consecutive shots on the same product, thus certifying without a shadow of a doubt the correct waste or the certainty of having produced an excellent article.

PROCESS

Resolution

The resolution has been calibrated to highlight defects on the target. The use of MP cameras and appropriate optics guarantees the detection of imperfections up to 0.3 mm.

PROCESS

System footprint

438 mm (double pitch line) or 320 mm (single pitch line) in the direction of tape feed, height from target 442 mm, depth 484 mm.

PROCESS

Interfacing

Fully configurable vision software via touch interface, screen up to 17''.

NOVELTY'

Options

Both from the point of view hardware that from that software, it is possible to make modifications such as to have the system check rotating glass tubes/vials or vice versa. In addition, it is possible to check the regularity of the final part of the tube/vial; by updating the software, it is possible to search for measurements, defects other than breakages, perpendicularity of the cut, etc.
