Every year, thousands of tons of detergents, disinfectants, and bactericides are produced in huge, expensive, and rigid plants, often concentrated in just a few sites, often on the other side of the world. Turboflux was born to overturn this model: a continuous flow chemical production plant, enclosed in two containers, transportable anywhere and operational in a few days.

The technology behind Turboflux is the result of a structured collaboration with Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Pisa, who actively contributed to the scientific and engineering development of the project.

Demonstration of the uniqueness of the project is the recent achievement of the European patent, which certifies its innovative value and technical-scientific soundness, and protects its industrial application, enabling its development and diffusion internationally.

Turboflux It differs from traditional batch mixing systems thanks to its continuous flow production technology. The heart of the system is a tubular reactor/mixer, designed to ensure:

The Structure of the Turboflux System

The plant consists of two containers placed side by side and connected by pipes, designed to ensure a continuous and efficient production process:

  • Chemical Container:
  • It contains the chemical mixing plant, which takes reagents from external tanks and mixes them through a continuous tubular reactor.
  • Maximum insurance energy efficiency and big flexibility in the variation of product specifications.
  • Filling Container:
  • It houses the filling machine that carries out the controlled filling of the finished product into the containers.
  • It is equipped with an automated transport system for pallet handling.
  • At the base, there is a collection tank to contain any spills, ensuring safety and one management optimal of the risks.

The Scientific Contribution of DICI

The collaboration with the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering, University of Pisa It did not limit itself to theoretical consultancy, but produced a concrete and integrated technical-scientific contribution in every phase of the development of Turboflux.

The university team conducted the rheological and chemical-physical analysis of the fluids involved in the process, which is essential for understanding the behavior of the products in the liquid phase at different viscosities and concentrations. In parallel, it guided the selection and study of the modular elements of the continuous flow reactor, choosing the most suitable geometries and materials to guarantee homogeneous and repeatable mixing.

To optimize the project even before the physical construction, advanced numerical simulations were performed with CFD techniques (Computational Fluid Dynamics): mathematical models that allow us to "see" and predict the behavior of the fluid inside the reactor, reducing errors and prototyping costs.

The results of these simulations did not remain on paper, they were incorporated into a digital dynamic model of the plant, a digital twin capable of reproduce the evolution of the production process in real time and continuously compare it with sensor data. This digital twin forms the basis of the quality control system, immediately flagging any deviations from product specifications and allowing intervention before waste or risk situations arise.

On the digital front, the YOU SAY He participated in defining the software architecture and the plant's automation and control system, helping to build the logic that governs every parameter of the production process in real time.

Finally, academic input accompanied the entire integration and prototype development cycle, up to the functional and performance tests conducted in both simulated environments and real operating conditions, validating the theoretical solutions with direct experimental evidence.
